Installations

At Walkey’s Water Covers, We’re pleased to offer a 100% Customer satisfaction guarantee for the installation of your cover and roller.

That’s right!! If You aren’t happy with the work we do, you won’t pay for the installation of that item.

But here’s the thing.. pool cover installation is not difficult and can be done by almost anyone, using everyday tools and a bit of patients and savvy. All you really need are a sharp pair of household scissors.

It’s a simple procedure and you can do it on your own, of course you will find it easier with someone to help unroll and flatten the blanket.

So how you do it?

Roll out your new pool cover over the pool ensuring that it is both long enough and wide enough to cover the whole pool, bubble side down.

You will notice the panels of the pool cover are welded together. This will now enable you to position the pool cover by lining up the weld lines so that they are parallel with the edge of the pool or can be be parallel with the pool cover roller tube when it is installed.

Take time with this positioning procedure until you are completely satisfied with how the pool cover sits on the pool. Then when you are satisfied, you can begin to “cut the pool cover in”.

Cutting the Pool Cover In – The most important thing to remember is slow and steady. For someone doing this for the first time, having a helper to hold the pool cover in position while you cut it in will improve you effort a great deal. Do not over commit and cut off too much at a time because obviously once it is cut off, you cannot put the piece back on again. That said if you do overcut a bit, don’t panic and remember the purpose of your cover is to prevent evaporation and retain heat. a slight deformity or overcut won’t stop the effect of the cover so keep calm and continue with care.

Even if it means going around the circumference of the pool several times, taking only small amounts off with each pass, the quality of the result will be very pleasing.

Cutting a pool cover flush to the waterline make it easier to roll up whereas it’s my belief that cutting it lapped up the sides to keep out more leaves and rubbish is a bit of a myth, because the debris will still fall in the pool when you roll up your cover.

Therefore, pool manual or robot vacuums are essential to helping keep your pool clean .

Pool cover installation need not be viewed as a difficult task. With patience, a methodical approach, and an extra pair of helping hands, I believe anyone can get a professional looking result.

Again, if it seems a bit overwhelming you can always book an appointment to call us out and we can provide the installation process for you. We just need to book you in once your cover has arrived!
